Bur Oak (Quercus macrocarpa)

This deciduous shade tree grows slowly, but will eventually reach upwards of 50’. This impressive oak grows well in the open, with semi-glossy dark green leaves that turn yellow in the fall. The Bur Oak grows well in a variety of soils, and is both drought and fire resistant. Commonly chosen for landscaping yards and parks, the Bur Oak regularly lives 200-300 years, making it an impressive long-living addition to your home.
